OK, so I am having a problem finding the inserts that go in the gunwale mounted "flush" rod holders. yall know what I mean, then black rubber inserts that had the cap attached to it to keep rain water from going down the rodholder and into the hull.
where can I find these??? Boater's World went out of business or I would know exactly where they were located on the shelf (used to work there during college[8D])
where can I buy them and what would the correct terminology be to use when doing a web search??
Can yall tell I'm all done with this thing we call winter[V]

I have been looking at seats and mounts, bow mount trolling motors, downriggers, ect for my boat.
Sticker shock make one sick.
I can't belive a stinking boat seat and pedistal caost as much as a dang lazyboy. And I am not even looking at the high dollar stuff.
I have seen some SEATS over 400 bucks.
Trolling motors are running 500-1800 bucks. Guess it will be a transom mount for me..... I can buy one for about 250 from Cabela's.
Bring on another thousand.... [V]
This might be tough[V]

I am not a tournament fishing guy. I don't need the latest and greatest. Some of the prices on stuff is rediculous. Not so long ago, there was two classes of stuff, relating to fishing. The expensive stuff, and the stuff the common man could afford.
Looks as though the common man class is gone.
all I can find anywhere is the new "gasket" style that they are trying to market. I just want the old "drop-in" style. Damn marketing guys[V]
If worse comes to worse Justin, how about the hardware store? Perhaps you can get a rubber plug that fits it and some light duty stainless chain?

I am mainly just trying to keep rainwater etc from filling up the bilge/hull so I guess you may be right. I might have to "invent" something.
either that or switch all the rod holders over to the gasket style[:(!]

I don't know which brand you have, or how many, but the ones I have seen run about 40 bucks each for the cheapies.
I am going to mount one or two in my boat, but they will be a differnt style. The will mount on the gunwhale of the boat, instead of cutting a hole to mount the style you have. I don't intend to troll with them. They will just hold a rod when I am crappie fishing.
Gotta love the Chesapeake Bay[8D]
