The wife and I got an invite to a small dinner party at a friend's house on the lake.Good steaks and many cold beers. I dusted off the old twelve string and mixed up a batch of singing juice for the occasion. Now I haven't performed for anyone for quite a while so I was wondering if my increasingly arthritic hands would be up to the task. My voice has stayed in pretty good condition since while driving to and from jobs I sing songs that really push my vocal range.
After the intros and a few drinks I pulled out the old box and tuned it up on the deck overlooking the lake. Had a nice echo over the water. Thought I'd play three or four tunes for my meal and that would be it. Well, four hours later I was sweating and panting like the good old days. My audience was in shock. Not to brag, but it is one thing I can really do well. I'm so glad all of these years of domestic life has not caused me to loose my ability to entertain a crowd or have a ball doing it. Thinking I should get back in the studio one more time before I loose it.
