As an ex-cop, I LOVE this one!ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Air One to Krispy Kreme -- we're coming for your glazed fritters. An apparent doughnut run via helicopter by a police department pilot and a flight officer could cost both employees dearly, Lt. Bob Huntsman, who heads the department's Field Services Support Unit, said.Huntsman said the incident will be investigated, and the employees will bedisciplined, if necessary."Their sergeant is going to be interviewing them to find out what the hell they were thinking," Huntsman said.Huntsman declined to identify the flight officer, a sworn police officer, and thepilot, a civilian contractor. The incident was reported by Keith Turner, who said he saw a helicopter with the Albuquerque Police Department emblem painted on its side land near a Krispy Kreme Donuts outlet.Turner, who declined to say where he worked, said he was taking a cigarette break at his job."I just think that's wrong," Turner said. "My tax dollars don't pay for that."The pilot and flight officer were on a routine patrol of the city, Huntsman said."We've worked too hard, too long to make this a professional unit to let one lapse screw it up for us," Huntsman said.He added that police have been trying to get over doughnut stereotypes for years."It's not like they landed at a health food store," he said.BTW....The Twin Cities just got it's first Krispy Kreme store. I'll let you guys know if they're worthing flying in for.
