National news tonight gave a story about the aftermath of 9/11...about air quality around the Twin Towers after they came down.
Seems the EPA was instructed by the fedgov to downplay and ignore dangerous amounts of toxens in the air around the site...
Anyone hear this ? I have been looking thru all the news places for this story...and cannot find,,,,

POL FUMES AT EPA'S 'LIES' OVER 9/11 AIR QUALITY
NEW YORK POST
August 24, 2003 -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler yesterday demanded a congressional investigation of the White House for its role in "misleading" the public about the air quality in New York in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The Manhattan Democrat also called for the Justice Department to look into the actions of the Environmental Protection Agency.
The congressman's demands come a day after a bombshell report issued by the EPA inspector general saying that the White House instructed the EPA to tell New Yorkers the air was safe before adequate testing was performed.
"The White House and the EPA chose to increase the threat to the health and lives of New Yorkers by lying about the environmental conditions," fumed Nadler, whose district encompasses Ground Zero.
In a 165-page report, EPA Inspector General Nikki Tinsley charged the EPA with jumping the gun on announcing the city's air quality to be safe and accused the White House Council on Environmental Quality of pressuring the EPA to make those statements
