That gun is not in nearly good enough shape to warrant $3,000. Maybe 2K.

    I'm with Joe, if that's a $3000 gun I'm a jet pilot.
Look at it real close, it's rough. atleast I think it is.

If it was Dirty Harry's it wouldn't be worth that much. It is a worn S&W.

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

The -1 versions of the N frames were only made for about one year (1961) so they are desired by collectors. As a shooter and not a collector, I would not pay even one dollar more for 29-1 over a similar 29-2. But I know some collectors absolutely lose their minds over such things. Note the 3K for a 29-1 related by nutfinn.

BTW- Know what the difference is between a 29 and a 29-1? They changed the threads on the ejector rod to left handed so as to be less likely to come loose during firing.

    Big whoop.

This is the reason why I sold it, I shoot all my guns, I did not want to be shooting a $3k revolver, that I paid $300 for [:D]

    WTH? [:0]

    What is rare about it?

My 629-1 in flawless condition, should be worth about $7K then. [:X]

29-1 there is only several recorder, less than 50
