Star PD (image)

Thought you might like to see my latest acquisition, a fairly nice version of the first good semi-auto I ever owned, the Star PD. This one as you can see is ported, and I've added Pachmayrs but left off the backstrap so you can see that nice mirror-finish (with no grip safety). There are slight imperfections in the photographic image that are not on the gun. It's clean and shiney, and feels great on the hip. It was well taken care of but a good cleaning with nitro and oil and a couple touches with fine sandpaper made this smooth as glass to operate. Mags work beautifully, with the kind of authoritative action you just don't enjoy on a polymer-framed gun (and I say that being a fan of polymer technology). All in all, a happy purchase for me from Gunbroker.

Carl --That's almost exactly what I gave for this one using the Buy It Now feature. I figured it wouldn't last long if I waited to bid. Even though the PD is not as popular as it once was, I was sure there were some of us on here who remember it fondly. As I said, this one's a keeper. I'm laid off right now and saying that is going some. But I do have my principles, and this one is mine for the foreseeable future. Thanks.
