I was in the Gun Talk chat room during the broadcast of Gun Talk with John Gresham on Sunday and there were some negative comments directed towards Davidsons. Are there any dealers or buyers here who have had negative experiences with Davidsons customer service or their Lifetime Warrantee?

Reading some of the latest posts makes me wonder about Davidson's. Evil ATF's posts about his M1A delivery makes me shudder. They have a warranty, but I guess it's no good if they're not going to honor it. I bought a hunting rifle and Leupold scope from them in February this year and had a great transaction. I have a nice little Taurus 41Mag that's ready for me to pick up tomorrow that I also purchased through Davidson's.Other than Evil ATF's posts and some of the follow-ups, I haven't heard anything about them one way or the other. Why do so many people dislike Davidson's? I guess I just want to hear more stories, either positive or negative.

I have dealt with Davidsons several times during the past year or so and have had no bad experiences. I find them to have many items not available elsewhere and their web-site is handy. They are not the least expensive distributor by a long shot; however, when they have exclusive distribution of limited production items you have little choice in the matter. Again, I have not a bad thing to say about them. Their pricing is their business, where I buy from is my business and the two seem to get along well. As far as the Davidson guarantee I wouldn't expect them to warranty a new firearm; that is the manufacturers problem and I will deal with them directly as I do with all other distributors. Sorry to be so long winded but you asked.

However, the "Lifetime Warranty" they offer doesn't do a damn bit of good if they don't back it up. I can offer each of my customers a 1,000 case of ammo free of charge with each firearms purchase, but I'm only a great dealer if I follow through. I had to go through the factory to get my M1A replaced. It arrived damaged from Davidson's. Davidson's was not in the mood to take care of the problem for me. Luckily, Springfield Armory knows what customer service means and THEY follow through on their warrantys.
