New Opinion on FEG

After hearing the fanfare of the FEG PA-63 and some positive comments on FEG's clone of the Hi-Power, I bought one of the Hi-Power clones and some spare mags. As a matter of fact, I forked out a sizable amount for a new-in-plastic 17-rounder at the Sioux City, IA gun show yesterday. I took it out today and fired a round and the slide locked back because the slide-stop wriggled itself partially from the frame during that one single shot. I disassembled and reassembled the gun and reloaded it. I chambered another round and the slide, guide rod, spring and barrel went flying into a small stream of water after the slide-stop came completely out of the gun during that one single motion. The FEG now remains disassembled and will never be fired again. What a waste!

I agree with SaxonPig - wait a sec maybe not. You just have to love that grinding, lack of fit and quality control FEG puts out. Makes for a good gun. Heck I could even use a hammer on one of my FEG Hi-Powers. And you know what? I didn't even feel bad about hitting that %^&$%#*! thing. I had ten of those in inventory about 2 years ago. Maybe one was smooth and the rest were better suited for the grinding mills. Sold them for $225 and was glad to see the last one go.SaxonPig you must have received that one good one I let go - LOL. BTW - the excess oil that dripped off those guns I used in my lawnmower.I hope I have not offended anyone here!!![This message has been edited by Trader Dave (edited 11-20-2001).]

I bought one of the Hi-Power clones(40s&w) about 6 months ago and I love it.....Very acurate.....Almost sounds like someone might have messed with yours before you bought it...

Idsman75 That's too bad about your FEG. However, I'll make you a offer you can't resist! How's about $30 for that FEG?

Last time I checked, the Hi-Power was a proven design. I'd sell it for $30 but I wouldn't feel right about passing it on to a single soul. I wonder if there is a person around that could dispose of it for me. I'd throw it in the garbage but some liberal would crucify me if some kid got ahold of it. It's disassembled now and I don't ever plan on even cleaning all of the sand and dirt that accumulated after the whole top half went flying.

IDSMAN75, meet me in Des Moines at the show this weekend, I'll take it off you hands and pay you the $30. You'll have a receipt with the serial number and model on it. It will be repaired or used for parts. Either way, it will be taken care of. Let me know. BTW who did you buy it from? Was it new or used? As for the mags we can work that out too, if need be.

lrarmsx--Read my post entitled "Baring the Heart". I don't know where I'll be this weekend. If things don't work out then I'll be heading to the gun show in Des Moines. If things work out, then I'll be in Minneapolis. It was bought new. The factory mag was crap which should have been an indication to the quality of the weapon. It was bought new and has about 5 boxes of ammo through it. If I get to Des Moines on Sunday, it's a deal.
