This one was going around Northern Calif. in the late 1960s.Had a friend that worked at Mare Island Navel shipyard.Friend was going around telling everybody about 500 brand new Harley Davidson 45 service cycles on the base.The story was they were brand new packed in crates leftover from WWII.Price was $50.00 each,but you had to buy all 500.I watched this guy for years telling people about this,and trying to get them to get in on the deal.If only it was true.I did see a 45 trike that sold at a Flying A gas station go for that price.I had no money,and one of the town of Napas 2 Hells Angels bought it.He was killed in a car wreck shortly after.All the trike needed was a fresh battery,and fresh gas.
