Unless You want to get stuck cause you are out of gas. This report is for I-5 only But in eastern Oregon they have already run out in a few places. Along with food supplies.

quote: ? With traffic already starting to back up, gas stations along Interstate 5 are preparing for a busy eclipse weekend.

The manager at the Arco station in Springfield said they have had extra shipments brought in the past few days leading up to the eclipse, but with the influx in visitors coming in at once, she?s worried they could run out of gas.

In preparation, she said they've been stocking up on gas and other items drivers may need on the road like drinks and snacks.

The backroom of the gas station is stocked with unusually large volumes of water, juices, and sodas. It?s just in time because people have already started their journey to see the eclipse.

?I'm with a group of people who [are flying] in from everywhere and we get to stay and see the eclipse,? said Dakotah Elsholtz, from Texas. ?It?s pretty cool, but I?m kind of scared of the gridlocked traffic."

The gas station is also planning on having extra gas attendants and cashiers on hand to help where needed.

"It's my first time working the eclipse so it?s going to be a big rodeo for me and some of the new guys,? said Bryance Cary, a gas attendant.

The manager is hoping the stock they have will last because, they won't be getting any new shipments on Monday, the day of the eclipse.

And with the National Guard on Standby they must know something is up.

I blame this on social media and the "I'm famous I filmed that"narcissistic society we have today.

This eclipse thing is getting out of hand. You would think it was the second coming.

Eclipses have been around for an estimated 4 Billion years, I would not expect this one to be any different.

I am surprised the DEMOCRAT governor has not found a way to tax it yet.

Don't give her any ideas! If she thought there was a way she'd do it!

Think about it - It is a "Once in a Lifetime Event". This will be first one I will experience personally, and probably the last.

It's fortunate I'm still in the ST Louis Metro because "totality' is just a few minutes down the road.

AND - it's just plain cool. Ya gotta enjoy the rarities/natural wonders in life. Keep some of the kid you used to be alive.

Life is too d.a.n.g short to get old so d.a.n.g. quick.

Will they jack up the price of gas? The bread and milk will be tripled like snowed in prices [:D]. That's why the National Guard are on standby. Or they're expecting all those people will turn in to zombies or what's the opposite of Werewolves?

I wonder why so many claim this is a "once in a life time event". There is another eclipse in just 7 years. [:)]

My poor wife works for a car rental agency. Need I say more. All the car rental companies have over booked their rentals. News at 10.
