Taken from web site after googling shortage of Ammo
""We're in good shape," said Tom Falone of Florida Bullet in Clearwater, who sells Federal and Spear brand ammunition to police departments and sheriff's offices. The only slight problem has been obtaining .40-caliber bullets, and those are delivered within 30 days.

"I called about .22 [bullets] the other day, and they had 12 million rounds in the warehouse."

If 12 million rounds of .22 are in a warehouse why in the hell aren't they in a Wal-mart for sale. Police training with these! Liars
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

They are talking about .22 caliber rifle bullets for reloading ie: .223, 22-250. 220 Swift, etc.. NOT 22LR rimfire

You may be right but either way your question is still a valid one.

Where is all of the .22LR ammo?

Every store I have been in in North Idaho and Western Montana has had plenty of .22. Some have been short of larger pistol calibers though. I don't know what wally world has, the local guy is about a dollar a box cheaper on everything and thirty miles closer.

that is because you and Eric are the only two people in northern idawho

try acquiring ammo where there is more than a handful of people trying to do the same [:D][:o)]

NC has a very bad ammo shortage. I went to a gun store today they had all you wanted at 2 times the price. Some ammo was 3 times what you pay anywhere else. Federal 22lr was 10 dollars for 50 not 550. Thats crazy!!!!!

You are all seeing what happens when Bubba Jr, who usually buys 100 rounds of 22 ammo a year, decides to buy 20 bricks. And 5,000 of his friends do the same thing, because they are afraid they are not going to be able to buy it in the future.

For pity's sake- If I emptied out half of the ammo I have in storage, at today's prices, I think I could buy a small house! And that has been acquired over time- as in Joes Sport Shop has a really good sale on 9mm if you buy a case, and Southern Ohio Gun had some good Greek .303, and the boys wanted to split a few cases of .223 to save on shipping, etc etc.

Starting to see the shelves fill back up again- some areas may take longer.

Just talked to a LEO friend. After cheching a dozen or more suppliers our PD has worked with over the years the earliest they can get their 40 cal order is September and possibly not before January. They might have to load their own!!!
