This is just shocking..... Two black males with a white female JUST robbed a house in our little town. They got a laptop and a wallet. They pulled a gun on the homeowner. I can't believe how brazen they were!

I don't even want to think about what would happen if someone tried that kind of mess here. Everyone seems to talk about "what ifs" and "I would haves" but in all reality you really don't know what you would do or what might happen with these types of things.

We are as ready as we can be here.....I just hope I never have to prove it.

It happened to me in 1984. I was 13 years old, visiting my Dad for the summer. Alone at home one day. Two guys came in the house, put a gun in my face, covered my head with a cloth sack and covered my entire body with a winter coat and made me sit in a corner. They were in the house for 20 minutes. I stayed under that coat for 50 minutes. Total fear.

LF, my home was hit two months ago and all I could think about was what I should have done to keep someone from walking away with my stuff.

The type work you do, I would suggest a good safe bolted into concrete and placed in a way that a crook cant get leverage to pull it up or out.

Once this happens crooks will hit an area a fews times and move on, expect to hear more stories like this.

My home was burglarized once... Because the crook saw the plain Police car parked out front and knew there would be guns inside.

I found him, got some of my stuff back, and now have a safe bolted to the floor.

Best of luck LF, I am sure you have counter measures in place to take care of your business.

Sad but true. Local mall by me just had two people shot in front of it today. Pretty sure it was the first shooting there ever. The way the area is going I doubt it will be the last.[V]

Find out what you can and protect your place from it.

A contractor that did work @ my place came back and robbed my place.
Took months to find out and what a shock when we knew.

It sucks when your house is violated.

Ida lept to the floor doing a shoulder roll into the other room where I keep my pair of 44s hanging on the bed post, grabed em on my way to my feet and came running out guns a blazing. That'l teach them pesky robbers not to poke a gun in my face..Thats what Ida Dun

Welcome to small town America and crooks operate everywhere and nobody fears the laws. Overcrowing of jails and early release is not helping us, build more jails and harsher penalties it would be cheaper in the long run.
It's only going to get worse with the attitude of the liberal judges and lawyers and we need to change that.

My small hometown about 4,000 has a crime and drug problem almost as bad per capita as the big cities.[V]

Yep. That is how these incidents work around here. Likely the reason that the thugs took things was to get payment for drugs that the occupants didn't pay for, or stole from the drug dealer. Likely involved in a gang, and they sent some of the newer members to do the dirty work, so those higher up don't take the fall if they get caught.

Big city gangs and drug dealers are sending their POS thugs out into rural areas to expand their territory to sell drugs and recruit new members. Seeing this more and more locally.

It ain't the law they have to fear around here. So far, my area has not been hit too hard by that crap.

I am quite sure as to what I would do.

It has a rifled barrel and is .44 caliber.

DO NOT come to my house and mess with me, my fiancee, or my dogs.
I got bullied a lot when I was a kid, I was small for my age, I don't intend to be a victim ever again.

if this country was not so soft on thefts like this things would change, when they are caught a rope should be thrown over a branch of a tree and swing them for all the people to see, a whole bunch of this crap would stop

My uncles house just got robbed. My cousin was home sleeping and heard noises down the hall.He walked down the hall with his Kimber 45 and fronted two big ole fat white wimmens and a brother stacking things on a blanket. The brother saw the gun my cousin had and took off leaving the women behind to be arrested.

Many times contractors are working as such because they can't get a job anyway else.

In my situation (described in my post above), I don't think there was anything that I could have done differently. In fact, if I had done ANYTHING differently, I probably would have gotten killed. Like I said, I was 13 years old. My Dad had no guns in the house. If there had been a gun in the house, if I had tried to get it, I would have been shot. I've replayed that day over and over in my head throughout the years. There's just nothing that I could have done differently.
