Would a 1904 Winchester lever gun with the barrel cut down to 16 inches be legal?

Did Winchester ever make this rifle in a carbine with a 16" barrel?

greetings, when i lived in tennessee i got one of those gun law books, and saxon p'g has it right on the 16 & 26 and the 18 & 26 except on pumps and semi autos the extra 1/2 " is required ( this is the infamous law that gave us ruby ridge). respt submitted dads-freehold

MASS, HAS MANY LAWS THAT ARE MORE STRICT THAN FEDERAL, & MOST OTHER STATES, ONE EASY WAY TO FIND OUT, IS TO CALL A LOCAL GUN STORE OR TWO, & ASK THEM IF THEY STOCK OR CAN ORDER A BARREL OF THE LENGTH YOU ARE CONSERED ABOUT FOR THE SHOTGUN IN QUESTION. YOU WILL GET A VERY QUICK ANSWER.
