Shooting this holiday weekend

I for one am ready for a good time shooting this weekend. It has been a month or 2 since I have went last. I'm taking my Mini, Benelli, 10/22, 1911, and .357. I plan on having a very good time. I really like plinking at various targets at long range. I have found that old CD'S work very well for this. They capture the light for a good target, and you can get many sequental hits on them. I can't keep them in the air, but I can make them dance at 150 yards with my 10/22. I can go longer distance with my mini, but follow-up shots are harder because of the recoil and scope I use. I am going to go for 100% on my trap shots this time. Last shooting session, I changed my choke and did very well. I was fooling around with very long shots,to test the lead, and missed a few. Anyone else going shooting this weekend, and what are you shooting at?

I hope so. Bought myself a Savage 111 left handed rifle today. I think my club might have some labor day festivities going on, which might mean NO SHOOTING.

There is a gun show this weekend, but I will go shooting next week. Combat pistol, indoors stages. It's always fun.

If I knew then, what I know now.

Good idea Rameleni, those scores of AOL promotional CDs that I never threw away are going to come in handy!
Maybe shoot some of my daughters "JaRule" CDs too. (with glee!)

We are going tomorrow(Sat.)My fiance and I went last sat.I wanted her to be familiar with all my firearms, especially since all the trouble we've had lately with an online wacko. She's vicious with the SKS!
We're going to work on pistols this Sat.

That's some downright good fun. I went out last Sunday with my brother and shot my FAL, my AR-15, my .44 magnum Vaquero, my brother's AK-47, his M-1 carbine, his 9mm Stenn and his damn bolt-action WWII 8mm Mauser. That Mauser has a steel buttplate and nearly a week later I'm still sporting a purple/green/yellow bruise on my right shoulder.

    It hurt so good.

I though about getting one of those old Mausers, but I heard they kick like a mule!!! Is it true?

It kinda reminded me of the ol' junior high school arm-sluggin' contests. The Mauser would be OK with a recoil pad, but that hard steel buttplate gives you a serious thump. That old dog is a shootin' sumbitch, though. Shoots straight and hits hard.
