Has anyone ever shot one of these? How do they compare to the Shiloh Sharps and can you crank up the loads in them? How accurate in comparison to a Shiloh? Thanks to any who reply. Beach

Do you mean 45-90?I believe the 45-70 is more versatile and carries more energy at ranges beyond 200 yards owing to the poor ballistic coefficient of the 300gr,45-90 bullet that starts out faster.

v35....No I actually think it is a 40-90...kind of like a .40-82 on steroids. I was actually thinking that if I ordered one up custom I might ask them to make it in .40-82 instead of the .40-90. Initially I thought it might have been a mistake too but apparently it's not. I got rid of all of my .45-70 stuff several years ago when I got my 1886 Winchester in .40-82. Iconoclast has done a super job setting me up in .40-82 brass and I might as well keep to just one ancient caliber. Beach
