supposedly norm mcdonald was fired from SNL because he refused to stop making fun of OJ and the president of NBC was a good friend of OJ

Maybe it's just me - I just didn't see the humor.

Seemed to me that people laughed because they "knew" he's supposed to be funny.

Like Jim Carey believes he's funny no matter what he does.

... and from his/another adrenalin junkie like him's perspective, my/your life is just as indistinguishable in it's mundaneness and monotonous sameness, I suppose.

It's about perspective and living life ... and being young with boundless energy that knows no limits!

    I do not/cannot relate.[:D]

A bit early and a bit obvious.

its about being stupid...playing with animals that can kill you is dumb. when a guy dies doing it, I don't feel pity for them...I feel sorry for baby bobby or bindy who gets to grow up without a dad. or for his wife who gets to raise the children by herself...
I can live a life that is niether mundane or monotonous without hanging chickens in front of a 14 foot long eating machine or spending summers as bear bait...
they may have had energy but it's their foolishness that knew no limits

Shows you where Norm McDonald is in his life and in his comedy career. Obviously, there's not much going for him if he needs to use the recently-deceased Steve Irwin for material. I always enjoy it when so-called "comics" die the slow, painful death of no longer be funny or mainstream and start playing shows like Jon Stewart's. Yet another fine example of water seeking its own level.

It was in incredibly poor taste, and it was hilarious--at least for those of us how did not have a personal connection to the man. I wouldn't have had the balls to run that line this early, but it WAS funny.

It was funny because it found the truth.

I'm still totally ambivalent about Mr. Irwin's work. I think what he did was irresponsible, but he also was able to inspire a great many people to appreciate nature who otherwise would not have done so.

    This rant goes nowhere.

I feel for the people who loved Mr. Irwin personally, but I also think they should not be so surprised. At least he went out doing what he loved. Time will tell whether his career was just show-biz or whether he inspired a widespread interest in nature.

Even Steve-O wouldn't have teased a Grizzly like that Dope Smoking Hippie did.[}:)]

The guy took chances. Maybe he minimized them significantly but the odds caught up with him. People watched him because he did dangerous stuff....His death proves it. It was a funny clip.Beach
