My 17 year old son called home from Daytona Beach Florida on Saturday night with the announcement that his JROTC Drill Team had just taken the National Championship over 72 other teams from around the country and Japan. This was at the Challenge Level, next year they compete at the Master level.

How would you rather die, 10,000 foot pounds of muzzle energy in the BUTT or a sharp knife in the HEART?

My congratulations to your son and his team. The JROTC Drill competition in Daytona is the epitome of drill competition. A local school just across the border in Holland Ohio, Springfield High School is an annual winner down there and their performance while not quite up to 8th & I or the Army's Old Guard is still something truly impressive to watch. I'm afraid my school hasn't quite made it to that level in drill......now shooting is a different story but most schools are judged by their drill not by their shooting. Again my congratulations.
