    I can respect that.

I don't go around telling black folks to take down their African colors flag, either. Why? Because it doesn't bother me.

I went to the Daytona 500 back in 2012.I looked around the crowd and saw at least 3 Afro Americans in the stands... 3!!
I was using hi powered binoculars and tried to scan every seat..

If NASCAR keeps on removing grandstands to hide empty seats it will finally get down to just those 3 seats and a few for driver's family members left and then I believe they'll still have a hard time filling the stands. Brain France and drivers like Jr. and Gordon are biting the hand that feeds them and it's showing.

Good ole boys will go to a race when its cold, hot, and raining...sitting in the stands makes the races what they are...if they try to depend on tv for revenue, they will end up like any other entertainment.....Being PC will not fill the stands are people watching on the screen....

I confess to not knowing much about Earnhardt Sr., but find this sweet little story just a little hard to believe.

Good ol boys would rather go to a local "bull ring" track (1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 mile), and watch several classes of cars with drivers they know personally, for a much lower cost and nowhere near the traffic congestion.

I don't know alot about Earnhardt either but why is the story hard to believe ?? We've always been kind and generous to our hired help (negros) around here as have many Southerners. Many have been raised on our farm over the last 100+ years and moved away, some for jobs, some for education, some for military careers etc. etc. but still consider this their home too, a few still live here, many buried here also on land donated for their church, in fact 2 have been here 60+ years, voluntarily [:0] and a few I'm closer to than many of my own blood relatives [;)] Southerners aren't like what most people think, I can relate to what Earnhardt did, I've done similar deeds myself as has many others. I sure my "sweet little story" as you call it won't change "your" mind but this is the way real Southerners live for those interested in knowing.

I have no doubt that Earnhardt (or most people, for that matter) would have removed it if they thought it offended someone a out whom they care.

It just seems odd that someone who had been with the famy for some time would be offended by something like this. Being offended by the battle flag was fairly uncommon until the shootings in Charleston made it popular.

he may have done it , but then when your money is based on sponsors and you know the millions you have and keep wanting depend on being PC most anyone would do similar .
why overnight it became like the plague to have a confederate flag just shows how much anger is there .
Like some one stated in another post what if the next ( lets hope not ) mass killing post on the internet with the rainbow flag and the bible and Karin on the table and uses them as the symbol of there revenge and reason for the deed .
Are we going to out law them over night I doubt it . even the American flag how many life's and freedoms have been taken away under it . but no major cry as of yet I know some are crying to now . some were justified some maybe not . to the victor go the spoils still holds true
