Gary,I built these benches about ten years ago. My new ones are lined around the edges with bed frame and the boards just drop in. I also put retractable wheels on them to be moved to cut the grass. The chair can adjust up and down with a pin for different height shooter. If you want, I can send you a detailed drawling. I welded all the frames and telescoping wheels. I make them to order so if one guy wants something added, he can. Seats are installed on both sides to accommodate right or left handed shooters. Oakie

We all bring our own seat cousins. If we leave one out there, the squirrels just chew them up to make nest out of em.. Yeah Jeff, God cheated me out of a * too.[:D] My back just meets my legs. [;)]

..Why didn't I think of telescoping wheels? I build monster heavy picnic tables that are of a trestle type. There're no "X" timbers to get in the way. I haven't found any offset caster type wheels that will work so I can move them around to mow. Retractable wheels are so simple, I didn't picture them. Thanks for the great idea Oakie!...[^]

Thanks John for the pictures. I don't have a welder available so is there any other way to build them with out a welder? Do you have any pictures of the wheels and how that works.

..Just a thought, Gary & John, but how about incorporating some of the cheap, pin type jack stands for the adjustable height seats and wheels? The wheels may be harder but the seats should be easy enough to figure out. Just a thought.

simple and functional . thanks oakie I was gong to build a new one
the adjusters could be made out of the house / basement jacks inexpensive and easy to adjust even cut to length and have many holes for height adjustment .
as for the question on the metal I would guess a drill and some better grade bolts would get the job done or ask I would bet one of you friends has a welder or a local fellow would do it cheap if you had it cut and ready to go . Just my guess even a local muffler shop could weld one for you I would guess at little cost maybe even make a new friend
stop by in here Ohio [;)] we would be happy to weld the frame for you .
