My wife and I not getting any younger , she has trouble pull starting the weed eater / trimmer .
I bought a troy built trimmer then bought a "jump start" for it basic a battery drill with a hex bit and slip clutch , also have on the way that used a common drill to do the same thing.
so you can pull start the trimmer or use the port and the push the starter in to turn it over . 1st day using it not much of a trial but was better then pull starting on the shoulder and arm for her ( or me for that matter )
not sure how long they have been on the market but seems like a good idea

On my second year with one, so far it's made the 2 stroke trimmer start every time. (I had started to believe that weed eaters were a disposable product.) Next mower I get will have the port too.

Getting too old to be pulling on a reluctant mower. [V]

Interesting. I didn't know that feature existed.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I have a Craftsman combination weed eater/leaf blower with the 4 stroke engine that came with a electric start attachment that you plug into a wall outlet. It starts so easy I've not had to use it though.

I bought a Ryobi battery weed eater 4 years ago. Does a great job and no rope to pull.At 75 and with arthritis I don't need a gas job.

I used and flat hated a Craftsman weedeater for a couple years. Was a major female dog to get that things started. I finally said the heck with it and threw it in the trash. Then I bought a Husqvarna expensive job at Lowes and I only put the ethanol pre-mix into it. I go through the little starting sequence noted on it and it burbles right to life. I don't even have to pull that hard.

I used an electric chain saw for some time for the same reason. Just hated the 10 or 15 mins it took to get the gas one started. Electric, plug it in and cut. Simple. Easy.

Ditch, I just bought a TROY with the same feature but didn't know it till I got home. What kind of bit does the starter need?? I have many battery drills so don't need a power source if I can just get the right bit. Thanks, Tom

I bought the battery unit on flebay then also found out troy built has a independent unit that works in a drill not very big and looks like I will like it better any way ( it has a one way clutch so when it starts it free wheels like the battery unit ) 15 to 20 .00 + range for it just came in the mail today , also from flebay easy to find type in troy built starter
they have a electric plug in the wall type also
