Street Outlaws, new Murder Nova

I am fully aware that the show is not as it appears, it is not true street racing as it is staged with help from local law enforcement. But these guys did get thier start street racing, something that has been going on for years and years.

Most of the cars on that show are the cars I like, homebuilt hotrods, a few are backed by big money and I hate seeing big money meddling with the home garage guys.

This new Murder Nova, it's not a street car, it's a Pro Mod raced under controlled situations on the street. It is beyond Pro Street, Pro Street cars are street legal, big tires and lot's of power but they remain streetable. My Chevelle will be a Pro Street car, I'm starting the chassis work soon.

Even though Murder Nova has morphed into big money sponsored tv series legend status and is no longer a street car, I hafta admit, hearing that engine idle did more for me than Viagra could do, yes I love hot rods damn near more than women [:D]

Check out the video in the link, and be warned, if ya don't like heavy ads you don't want to click the link.

I watch the show off and on the guys can drive and have some nice cars $$$ . but not what I would call a street car like you say just a drag car , no way they could drive across country with the set up there racing they trailer them now

I feel the same way ( even about the cars when younger I would spend my hard earned money on a new cam rather than take Betty lu to the drive in and dinner )
I would love to have a real street rod hot rod but it will never happen now
I do have two 69 Camaros I have owned for years but mild compared to what's out there now .

    any photos of your Chevelle

several years ago a local fellow had a 40 Willis it had Keith Black? I think block it was blown, injected ,NOS, hemi, the thing was just awesome I would have loved to had it .I think around 1500 to 1700 HP but tuned down to 800 for the daily drive [B)]
a close friend of his told me the guy decided to stand on it one day , of course it pulled the front end scared him , he let off and trashed the front suspension , had it repaired and sold it I think it was about 150k for the car

They are nothing more then race cars with head lights and tail lights. The only true street cars are the Farm Truck & the Dung Beetle. The other cars wouldn't last a half hour being driven like a normal muscle car. I'd like to know how all these guys can afford the cars they race. They all have garages but never work on anyone elses car or a customer. I watch it for the entertainment factor and my wife does as well.

I'm always amazed watching Farm truck launch and pull the front end up...amazing physics and a crapload of horsepower.

Pulling wheelies in cars is fairly easy, unhool the shocks and run stiff shocks in the rear amd with the correct tire/tire pressure and a little horsepower you can get wheelies.

The safest way to do it preventing front wheel bounce is with 90/10 shocks/struts and 50/50 shocks in the rear. Run slicks or let most of your air out of your tires and up they come.

Farmtruck, he's running a 502 with laughing gas and street slicks, I'm sure he runs close to 90/10s on the front end and stiff rear. It is impressive

Dominator is a close personal friend. Known him longer than I've been on GB. A LOT longer. He is real; down to earth, and willing to drive his just about anywhere. Rib him all you want. He is a good family man, wife with EXCELLENT children better behaved than my city slicker friends, and they are smart, genuine, and sincere. Dom may not be the fastest, but he is real, approachable, kind, and honest. One of my closest personal friends. Would drop whatever I am doing to go to his aid or his family's aid. Anytime of day or night. Call him what you want, but, don't call him fake or insincere. He is one of the best men I know.

I like Dominator as well seems really down to earth. But I can't forgive him for running a Chevy engine in a Dodge body, that just ain't right.

I've seen the show a couple times and that was enough for me. To much drama, to much BS.
Most of the stuff they race are not real streetable vehicles. They're good for short trips and that's it.Dave

I like the show but the cars are not street rods.

The Roadkill guys that built 55 Chevy Gasser then drove it across the US and raced it, that is a street rod.
