    I was surfing the web and came across some mathematical problems and one is apparently true but is so hard for me to fathom, what do you think? Hypothetically speaking;

    Tie a string around a basket ball and then add enough string that that there is 3" of space between the string and the circumference of the ball.
    Tie a string around the earth and then add enough string so that there is 3" of space between the earths circumference and the string.

    Now, pull in the slack. The amount of slack string of the ball and the earth are the same.
