[url] This is one of the most troubling videos currently on youtube. Notice that all comments on this video are prohibited by youtube. The last thing we want to do is OFFEND anyone. I would call this a wake up call but apparently we have over slept and our time has passed!! Like my mother would say; "I am glad that I am as old as I am because I don't want to see what will happen to my country." This isn't doom and gloom, this is reality.

quote:On Friday, the federal government announced that 663,000 Americans lost their jobs in March. What's truly unsettling in America's new era of gloom and dead ends is wondering how many of those 663,000 might be deeply, irrevocably angry about it - and might have a gun.

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.
Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.
Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism.
There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

The question posed by Rasmussen Reports did not define either capitalism or socialism
It is interesting to compare the new results to an earlier survey in which 70% of Americans prefer a free-market economy. The fact that a "free-market economy" attracts substantially more support than "capitalism" may suggest some skepticism about whether capitalism in the United States today relies on free markets.
Other survey data supports that notion. Rather than seeing large corporations as committed to free markets, two-out-of-three Americans believe that big government and big business often work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.
Fifteen percent (15%) of Americans say they prefer a government-managed economy, similar to the 20% support for socialism. Just 14% believe the federal government would do a better job running auto companies, and even fewer believe government would do a better job running financial firms.
Most Americans today hold views that can generally be defined as populist while only seven percent (7%) share the elitist views of the Political Class.
Interesting......first time I have noticed this....

The other part, needs more details. As a "juvenile" I routinely carried my .22 out to slaughter the desert wildlife in a merciless manner. Just as any fine young American lad should do.
Now if they are talking about inner city youth gangsters, that's a whole 'nother topic.
I don't mind the part about the convicted felons.

This is Oregon we really have very little inner city youth.

But the angle about juveniles and guns is poorly thought out at best. They are including every possibility in that short statement including every sort of legal and appropriate activity. Reads like ignorant anti-gunner wrote that part.
I'm sure that in the minds of those who saw Communism as the world's greatest threat, being paid to report your neighbor as a communist in Nazi Germany seemed quite reasonable, too.
It's the job of every citizen to report infractions of the law to the local authorities. Having citizens PAID to do so- beyond reporting the whereabouts of a known felon or something, with a cash reward associated- is really quite worrying to me.
Naturally I want criminals with guns to be stripped of said guns, and ideally sent back to prison. But the rest of it... day was an "inner city youth" with a gun was probably on the bus or his bike to go to the country to do some rabbit hunting; and you know what? When my dad was a kid in the 50s, NO ONE BATTED AN EYE. They knew what was going on.
The issue isn't that 'youth' or 'juveniles' have guns, but rather, what they intend to do with them. Fix the societal problems that make this a danger, rather than trying to run clean up.
