I have a friend who is wanting to join a very small Police department not far from where I live.He doesnt have much money and the department doesnt supply his firearm. He is looking at a CZ 75 in .40s&w and I am wanting to see if anyone owns one or knows about the quality of these guns and if they would be suitable for Police work?Thank You.

CZ75 is an excellent firearm. Very heavy, however, since it's all steel, but reliable.

If weight is a concern he might be interested in the CZ100 also. Its available in 9mm and 40 S&W and has a polymer frame.

CZ built them for Colt years ago. I think they are probably discontinuing the CZ40 line so the prices are down.

Don't know a lot about firearms in general . My brother just got out of police school in Denver , and is looking for a gun to . I told him to not be picky on price . Some day his life might come down to that gun .

Tell your friend to go ahead with the CZ40B and save a few bucks. It is still the reliable tough 75B action just mounted inside a grip frame that is the same angle as a 1911. This makes for a Colt Commander size gun holding 10 rounds of 40 in a grip that is not overly large/wide.
