Army Man

Twenty-eight years ago, Herman James, a Tennessee mountain man, was drafted by
the Army.? On his first day in boot camp, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon,
an Army barber sheared his head.? On his second day, the Army issued him a tooth brush.
That afternoon, an Army dentist yanked several of his teeth.? On his third day, he was
issued a jock strap.? The Army is still looking for him.

Hello fellow enthusiasts, I doubt you remember me but I posted here occasionally a few months ago. My last post was that I was entering the U.S. Army. I did, I went to BCT at lovely Ft. Benning Ga. and then to AIT at Ft. Sam Houston Tx. I am now an MOS qualified "Combat Medic". I will be shipping to Ft. Stewart Ga. as my 1st duty station from there I expect to be deployed to Kuwait, Irac, or something like that. Did I mention I am 35 years old and this is my 1st time in any military service? well see ya later folks.

    Congrats on your accomplishment.

Since I am considering doing the same, what were you told regarding your age? Do you have immediate family, etc...?

Thank you and good luck to you JWolf,
I might just join up with ya!
If my ticker doesn't give out, I can put in my 20 and then hang up my boots and kick back in my retirement.

    One question though;
My Little Rascal has 2 1/2 inches of ground clearance, will this be sufficient to negotiate the obstacle course? Or, should I go with the oversized tires?

Congratulations, you and your comrades in arms make this country great!

JWolf--Good to have you on the team. I've never been to Stewart but I hope that you enjoy your first duty station. That's quite an accomplishment. There's plenty o' young whipper-snappers out there that wash out long before they even get to the point where you are at right now.

Thank you all. My 1st duty station will be a Mechanized Infantry unit.
twins, you have to be in basic training or at least reception before your 35th birthday to be eligible, however they can make waiversin some cases. remember the words "Follow on schools" if you arent really happy with the choices they give you for MOS' you can request a follow on school associated with the MOS and further your education.
Yes I have a wife and 2 kids.
Stanman your ticker will be just fine. and go with the oversised tires.lol
    Idsman. Hooah!

Cool, congradulations. Sent us some war trophies. I want some M16 magazines and some body armor and a grenade.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
