Removing flash hider

On a Polytechnologies M-14, once the set screw is removed, which way is the threaded ring supposed to be turned (as seen from the front) for removal?

    On the Springfields it's standard thread so counterclockwise if your looking into the flash hider. These babies are on tight and require the same when reinstalled (mark the set screw slot)I hope you have the special pliars required.
