I had the laser zapper today and quite frankly it's a miracle. I went from off the scale legally blind to dang near perfect(a little fuzzy riht now) if not 20/20. Since I don't know what 20/20 is, I can't say for sure, but I'll find out tomorrow on the follow-up visit.

Guys, don't hesitate to get this procedure done, it's like science fiction come true and a hell of a lot better than flying cars. No more glasses or hard contact lenses. Whooopeeee!

I've been contemplating it, but besides being almost blind, I have huge pupils. It is almost without a doubt that low light will yield me halos if I got it done now. How big are your pupils measured at if you don't mind me asking ( I think the go in millimeters, could be wrong though).

I had a torn retnia repaired 10 years ago. That laser was like haveing a six cell flashlight shoved into your eye. Is the lasik laser anything like that?

CK-->I don't really know what my pupil diamter is. From memory, the machine will do up to 8mm, I think, VISX III. I'm at work now and will check info. later at home.

Alpine--> Naw, nothing like that. Eyes propped open, the light used to light up your eye is bright but the laser is all but invisible. Laying flat with your head under an arm of the quipment. 15 seconds of zapping per eye, immediate improvement.

The follow up today is 20/20 right eye and 20/25 left eye. The left eye was 20/750 and the doctor tells me it should continue to improve. Today was much better.

This morning I was amazed, "When did we get that cat?" "Boy this bathroom is filthy", "Honey, what happened to your bumper?" etc.

Did you notice the stink of burning flesh while they zapped your eyes?
If you have worn thick lens for a long time you will need sunglasses because everything will be brighter. I found that was why I couldn'd
    get used to contact lenses.
Nice to get up in the middle of the night & be able to read the alarm clock. Also nice to not have to go searching for your glasses.

Nah gruntled, I was too uptight to notice any smells.

CK --> I couldn't find any info about my pupil diameter, sorry.

Yeah, I think I am pushing 10mm and register somewhere like 20/1,000 or something, it is off the scale I think. I wear soft contacts which correct it to 20/20, so it isn't that big of a deal, but it would be nice to have complete freedom.

The only reason I have not done it is because it has only been done for what, twenty years. What happens if after thirty years the eye hardens, goes back to what it was with no chance of repair or you go blind. My eye doc is who gave me that thought to think about. He did say however, that I would be a great candidate for having it done.

Personally, since I cannot see without my glasses from about eight inches from my face, it sounds like a dream come true. It would be nice to be able to see to piss without glasses, or even to walk around without bumping into things.

My insurance paid $1750.00 an eye. It's been almost 3 months now and the halo's are starting to go away very slowly. My friends now call me Diamond Vision!
