JUST DONT TAKE MY GUNS-Or how I realized the right was right

When I was a young lad, I was very much in line with the positions of the left. I thought abortion was a "right", I thought religion was something for the home and church only, I thought the rich should be taxed to death, I thought big business was the enemy, I thought republicans wanted to starve children, drugs should be legal, government regulation was a necessity in just about all aspects of life and business.Basically, anything the left said, I pretty much agreed with... EXCEPT GUNS!! EVERYTHING THEY SAY IS RIGHT, EXCEPT THEIR GUN CONTROL POSITIONS. Even with respect to guns, I thought it was reasonable to outlaw certain types of firearms, do criminal checks, registration, anything they wanted to do was good, AS LONG AS THEY DONT TAKE MY DEER GUN AWAY! Now when Clinton came into the picture, I became concerned with some of his positions on gun control. I went to an NRA meeting(just to look at the displays of firearms, never would I be a member of such a gun nut organization) and I had to pay ten dollars to go and see the exhibitions. Little did I know, I became an NRA member, and every once in awhile,I would receive materials in the mail that dealt with the second amendment. I was amazed at the literature I received, which dealt with why gun freedom was important, why it is wrong for government to make laws that infringe on gun owners, and most importantly, why the second amendment protected the rights of citizens, and not the state militia.I was not going to take the word of this gun nut group, so I decided to do research on the second amendmnt, and it soon became apparent that the intent of the framers was quiteobvious: "The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed." I started thinking about all of the lies that the left says about guns, and the second amendment, and that tweeked my curiosity about other issues. While reading the constitution, and constitutional experts, pundits, etc, I soon realized that not only was the left lying about guns, they lie about everything. I realized their was no "Right to Choose", or a prohibition of religion, or a theory of over taxation, etc.., etc..NowI have been reading alot of anti expression of religion rhetoric on this board lately. I have also heard many other things said on this board that smacked of leftist/socialist thought. Do yourself a favor, and stop toeing the ACLU line when it comes to our rights. You might not realize it, but many on this board do that. It is interesting to note, that the ACLU does not believe in the individual right to bear arms. If they will lie about that, you must ask yourself, could they be lying about other things?Do yourself a favor, and read some commentaries by some of these people who feel differently about your interpetation of the 1st amendment. Those who do think they have a right to exercise their religion freely. Read some of the commentary about how abortion is not a constitutionally protected right. Read some of the material by groups that you now dismiss as religious wackos. And I am not talking about their religious views, but what they say about their rights to express those views.\You might start to realize, that their is alot of lying going on by the left, and that maybe, some of these wackos have got a point, about the expression of their beliefs, and about their opinions of freedom.Botom line, what I started to realize, was that the right is right, and the left is wrong. Not only the rights that I thought were important, but all rights for everyone must be protected.
