To Wood or not to Wood? Just received my G3 wood set from RTG. I was pumped up for the wood look but now that it here and on I'm kind of torn. What do you guy's think?

I kind of like the two tone with the parkerizing on the flash suppressor, magazine, forearm ends and the stock.

I like the wood, particularly if you already have one in evil black.

I almost always would choose wood over synthetic stocks. In this case, however, the synthetic seems to give it more of a "professional" look.

It's really too close to call definitively though. I think the only logical thing to do is for you to get another G3 and have one each way. [:D]

And I think I recently read somewhere that guns with wood anywhere on them are 75% less likely to murder children than the evil black ones. So the logical conclusion is that if you keep the wood on the gun, it will be safer for everyone.

    Hey Bro.,

I like the Wood. It doesn't look like what everyone else has. Plus those people that we meet up with at the range won't fear us so much. At least not you.... They always look at me and my black guns a little different.

[xx(][xx(] Wood =YUK! Go back to the black. I'm going against the grain here(pun intended) Wood is made for hunting and safe queens. But thats just my opinion.

JBoss...If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier!!!!!!!

Now it's cinched. I've got someone who has voiced their opinion strongly. Now I have to stand up and say "Wood is here to stay". Now I have to figure a way to gunkote the end caps and stock cap without burning the wood during the curing process.

since wood is so "classy" looking and according to Dave 75 % less likely to kill kids where can I get a wood stock and grips for my AR-15? [:D]

I kinda like the wood because it looks like it should for lack of a better phrase. The black looks cool to but it is unnatural.

I don't even know what in the world you are talking about, but being a negotiator, I would suggest you compromise and go to a wood laminate stock.

Jimkane, I came across someone making a full set of AR furniture in the original M-16 pattern. Can't seem to find it again. It did look odd at first, but I could see how it would grow on a guy.
