22-250 Mauser Project Update!

Well I figured y'all are probably wondering how the Mauser project is coming along so I guess I'll let ya in on it!

Not a whole lot of progress, but I did get the barrel and got the stock inletted to accommodate it, but I may not be completely done with that either. The stock still touches the barrel for about the first 3" in front of the chamber, going to shoot it before deciding whether to fully float it or not. While surfing I did find a new commercial Parker-Hale bolt and matching adjustable trigger; the trigger has the safety and the bolt has a smooth shroud without a safety which will look much cleaner, so I'll be changing those out, hopefully before the end of the week . I still need to finish polishing the receiver, then I can install and headspace the barrel and install the scope & mounts . now I'm edging close to the price of a new Kimber . but I don't really care .

Question! What's better for this type of receiver, a one piece or two piece scope mount?

The only bad thing about choosing a Kimber ...
... there are so darn many models to choose from!

If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

If the action will take a one piece mount, it is ALWAYS better to do so. A good one piece mount beats any 2 piece mount.
    Nice looking gun!!

I'll take 5 - if you can have the order ready by next week. No Kimber - just kidding. Thats a nice looking 22-250. I wish I could find a lefthand thumbhole stock that was inletted for a righthand bolt. I shoot kinda weird with my screwy right hand. I've got a Mauser in .280 that I'd like to spiff up.
