Minors Defending Themselves

I was just wondering if someone broke into your house and the residents were armed and a person under the age of 18 shot the person, and it was a justifiable shooting, would they get in trouble with the law? I know there are certain circumstances but I was just wondering. I am 16 and would know how to react probably better than my mom. Thanks.

If'n I had to shoot someone, Id have rather done it before I was 18 because the law will be easier on you.
Heck its easier on you even if its premeditated murder.

    what about your dad?

I dont think it should have to be something you even think about, when someone is in your house #1 get the closest weapon, #2 get the best weapon, #3 call the police,
If you have to use your weapon at any step of the way, you have to use it. It should never be a choice of..... well, if I was over/under 18, or if I lived in a state with self defense law A/ without self defense law B, then I woulda shot them.

If you have to use it, you have to use it. Id rather sit 5-10 years in jail than lay 6 feet underground for eternity(or have a family member do so).

My Dad was a Cop, and after a fight at a local high school football game, there was some rioting in town. Long story, but because of some things that took place at the fight, my Dad and another officer were threatened with having their houses burned down, as was the high school principal.

Most of the PD was having to work nights because of the trouble. The principal asked my Dad how he could leave his family at night when we had been threatened with being burned out?

Dad looked at the principal and said: "You know my two sons who go to your school? They're taking shifts, both can shoot, and I've told them to drop anybody striking a match in our yard!"

Funny, but the principal kinda looked at my brother and I a bit different after that.

One thought on minors, or anyone else, defending themselves:

If some azzwipe deserves to be shot, it doesn't matter who shoots him, or what they use, AS LONG AS HE DESERVES TO BE SHOT!!

My 15 year old knows where His firearms are, knows where His ammo is, and knows when and how to use both. He knows he is backup for Mom when I work nights[:D]

States like California would probly try to prosicute the parents for leaving the guns unlocked. I believe it is the law in California that you have to keep all guns locked in one way or another if there are children in the house.

Screw any law - that says a person (of any age) cannot defend themselves[:(!][:(!]
