Fall

I have felt the sting of summer, the heat and wet air has taken the toll on this old body (47) I have sweated enough and have drank water to the point that thurst is not quenched. The humidity so strong-I cannot move, but must. No rain, just sunshine, day after day, and thick air surounds and takes the breath. I hate summer, not like I did when I was young, at which I relished the time I could spend on the beach. I awate the day's of cool 75- 45 degrees, I can go camping, shooting, and all those things. To feel the warmth of a sleeping bag when it's 28 degress outside. To awake and make hot coffee on an open fire( with jerky made on same). No No- I don't like summer at all. At All!

sweating until life has been drained out of you, bring on fall!!!!!

I tend to agree with you except for one thing, I hate the gloom of winter, Darkness when you go to work, darkness when you come home, hump firewood in the dark, grey skies in the afternoon, winter and its austerity brings me down, reminds me of where we're headed. Bartman

DITTO here too. I'm 55 and don't get "spring fever" any more, they must be something wrong with me. I guess that's why fall is my favorite time of year.

It seems to be getting hotter every year. Is it global warming, or are we being terra formed? Judge Dread? Or are we just getting a little older and not quite so tolerant.

If I knew then, what I know now.

I enjoy them all but fall does have a luring effect on me. Just can't wait to get out and hunt. Love those whitetails. Hunt em from Oct to the last month of the year. Just like to get away from cars, phones, and people even though I'm a people loving guy.

    i agree 100%...summer sux !!!
For some reason I am not looking forward to
this fall as the hunting has gone downhill.
The grouse population crashed last year, and
they were hard to come by...another 5 years or
so and the population should be on the upswing,
leading to the peak of those d a m n 10 yr cycles
when they will dissapear again. CWD has now been
found in Minnesota and our deer poulation may be
at risk of dissapearing also. Good thing i love
fishing!! Looking forward to winter trips into
the BWCAW for trout fishing. Temps of -40 below
zero tends to keep all the A-holes away!! Dog-
sledding thru the winter wilderness is an experi-
ence every one should try at least once in there
life. The bugs are gone, the heat is gone, the
humidity vanished, people are absent, no roads,
nothing motorized, no planes, snowmobiles, chainsaws,
you get the picture...just the wolves and other
critters at peace in a 1.5 million acre wilderness..
Toss in several thousabd pristine lakes, some good
freinds, and a warm campfire and I'm in paradise. Who
needs Heaven when I have the BWCAW????
God I love that place, can't wait for the snow to fly!!

I'm not 55 yet and I never really did get spring fever. Bring on the fall! My idea of heaven is the eight weeks of October and November in a continuous loop.

Your speaking the gospel now. I still haven't found where it is fall all year long. When I do, I'll be changin my address.

After a year of severe health problems, I have gained weight. I never knew a few extra pounds would make summer hurt so much. I will go on a diet!

I guess I do like fall the best, but around the NW it only last about 2-3 weeks then the rains start. Fall just seems like the time I have to reflect on all the chores I didn't get done in the summer and have to get done before wet weather. I must say that after working out in the weather all winter - summer does have it's own appeal.
