what turns a Liberal Loon into a gun buyer?

Raging left wing loon that lives about a mile from me, whom is often writing letters to the paper for stricter gun control got robbed in his home last weekend. Yesterday I saw him buying a Ruger 556 at Cabelas which is 45 miles from our place.
Funny how quickly they abandon "their values".

Typically, they have no real "values".

He wants the Government to control YOUR right to own a gun not his.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Did you take the time to introduce yourself and, in a nice way of course, ask him why the change of heart?

+1 I would have walked over and ask him why he was buying a pistol if he didn't like them.

Liberal DEMOCRATism 101: Rules and laws apply to everyone else.

Take the FB CEO for example who can afford by 16 armed guards to protect him 24/7, yet does not want you to have a gun.

You should go over to his house and welcome him to the Republican Party. And then invite him to go out shooting with you. At least that's what I would do if it was me, that way I can teach him gun safety if you lived that close to me.

Of course I walked over to him and said hello , we live near each other and around here everyone knows each other cause it is rural. He said something like..."I hate guns but I must protect myself" to which I replied something like.... well you got three options here love the bad guy to death, call the police ( response time IF they come at all is at least 45 minutes), or buy a gun.
It is hard to believe though that someone with no experience at all handling a gun...his own admission...can take control of one and walk out the store. I offered to show him how to load it and he said he is not going to he is just keeping it in the house for protection. Wonder how that is going to work for him?????????

Well if he doesn't want your help to learn how to load it, he doesn't want your help to learn how to safely use it. Sounds like it's a win situation for you, you don't have somebody that doesn't know how handle a gun safely living next-door to you so you don't have to worry about him shooting you and your loved ones on accident.

I think I would just ask him to go with you the next time you go shooting, easy and casual like. You can tell him that he should understand basic safety if he is going to be a responsible owner and come on out for some fun. He may be open to it after the whole thing settles in his mind and he gets used to the idea.

Remember to remind him that he has the right to buy a gun to protect himself, because YOU have been protecting his rights from the politicians HE votes for.

Holy crap. He went from gun hater to AR-15 owner? Seems like a huge leap. I mean, I could see him buying a pistol or revolver, but still. This is not going to end well, I think.

what turns a Liberal Loon into a gun buyer?

For me, it was promising her sex. [8D]

I took a Michigan girl to the range and started her out with a High Standard automatic at 25 feet. No real recoil and noise to scare her.
Women are inherently good pistol shots anyway and she did well keeping them all on the paper.

Then we moved up to the Tokarev and again she kept them all on the paper.

Then she got a crack at the AR-180 and after drawing what the sight picture should look like, she kept 18 of 19 on the paper at 100 yards.

She lives in FL and has her CCW class in February.
She's a medico and after she wrote on FB she had scheduled the class, a number of her RN friends are now going to take the class too.

She really did vote for Hillary too, but if Trump is half as good as President as I think he'll be, she will come around.

Our daughter drove over to visit last week. A lady in the same law firm my daughter works said, "I remember you saying your Dad was a regular gun nut. Does he have any guns to sell?" I believe that this lady has never owned a gun in her life. Has never fired any kind of gun in her life. My daughter asked her what kind of a gun she would like. She said "Oh, I guess a .38 would do. We just want to keep it in the house in case somebody breaks in. My daughter asked her what size of gun she wanted and she said, "just a .38." I don't believe I will touch this with somebody else's ten foot pole. She wants to spend under two hundred dollars..

This is why you take them to a shooting range. You've got to overcome, decades in some cases, anti-gun indoctrination.
Stupid women are empowered by marches. Assertive women are empowered by hands on experience.

If the OP invited the left wing loon for a day at the range when he was told the gossip, it's possible he could have made a friend, at least on the subject of firearms.

Change that Carpe Diem to Seize the opportunity instead.
    I changed it to Carpe *! [}:)]

1911, you may be right, but I'm from the School of Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda. You never know until you try. At least plant the seed that MAY grow at some point in the future.
Doesn't cost you a dime. I've heard no plenty of times in my life. It doesn't hurt my feelings.

what gave the two of you the idea I want anything to do with this idiot? I said I know him same as I know the local mailman. Maybe I should've said I know of him from all the Leftist letters to the editor in the paper he writes...anti gun, anti conservative values, anti Republican of any name. like someone else said a f'ing idiot.
I have no interest to be his buddy and swap spit at a rifle range somewhere. I do not care if he blows off his foot or his brains out.

Well, yeah. This * doesn't know anything at all about guns, so of course he buys an AR-15.

After all, the AR15 is the scariest, deadliest, most frightening instrument of destruction mankind has yet devised short of the hydrogen bomb.

In all honesty, his likely plan in the event of a break in is to carry it before him like the Israelites carried the Ark of the Covenant, striking terror into the hearts of his enemies and forcing them to flee for their lives.

He showed he is not when he writes the paper and tries to do his utmost to get stricter gun laws. Not a way to make friends around these parts.

Just spitballin' here, but what if you just left a copy of the comic book that explains the M-16 to the troops on his fence?
Then just sit back and wait for the gunshot.
    No crappy neighbor.
    Free AR.
