This gun is accurate....but why?

A while back I purchased from this auction a Uberti Richards-Mason conversion sixgun it calibler 44 Colt. I was disappointed at the pistol range because it shot about 16" high @ 25 yards. I took it to my smith to install a higher front sight and to deepen the hammer notch sight which was very shallow. Why Uberti ships guns this way is annoying to say the least.
My smith secured a piece of cardboard to the barrel and then fired the gun with my loads to determine where the height of the front sight had to be to impact at 25 yards.
Today I got a chance to fire it since the work was done and at 25 yards off a sandbagged rest this gun will put 6 shots into 2 inches!
I can't believe it, this gun is more accurate then I'll ever be.
I use a handload consisting of once fired R-P 44 Magnum brass trimmed to 1.10" with a 200 grain cast FP over 6.8 grains of Unique and a WLP primer. OAL is 1.40"
This kind of accuracy may be a fluke but I don't know anyone else that has one so I have nothing to compare but I'm loving every minute of it. I can't wait to outshoot the big buck automatics that the hotshots come to the range with but then again, they usually have more money than shooting skills.
This kind of makes up for the Gold Cup I destroyed the other day.
