When you put your rifle or shotgun into the truck(going to or coming from the feild for instance)and the end is resting on the floorboard,do you have it muzzle-up,or muzzele-down?The reason I ask is that one of my hunting buddys always puts it muzzle -up,which in my mind, would not be good in case of an accidental discharge. We do always make sure no bullets are chambered until we're at our spots, but you never know.I've questioned him and even had him turn it around a few times, but he says he's always done it that way.Says it keeps from wearing the blue on the end of the barrel. What do you all think?

Exactly what I do and have for years, even when I used to carry a rifle alot in the truck I never had any muzzle wear...By the way my cousin about ruined his deer hunt one day last season by carrying the rifle muzzle down in a dirty floor board.
