Student takes hostages on Connecticut campus Fairfield-AP -- A student claiming to have a bomb is holding 15 students hostage inside a classroom at Fairfield University, in Connecticut.A university spokeswoman says the student took over a religious studies class late this afternoon. There were 15 students and a professor inside.Officer Mark Fracassini says police received a call this afternoon saying a former student was on the second floor of the building, claiming to have an explosive device.The Roman Catholic school has about five-thousand students.Fairfield is in southwestern Connecticut, about 20 miles from the New York border.
