Do you mean you want to be able to purchase a Class III firearm, or do you want to become a dealer in Class III weapons?

If all you want to do is buy an NFA restricted gun, find a knowledgeable seller and they will help you through the process to enable you to buy the gun you want.

What Offeror said. A gun shop in your area should be able to put you in contact with a few Class III dealers. You'll then have to go through the ULTIMATE background check. Then buy the transfer stamp. About $200 I think. Then get your weapon. Then mortgage the house to buy LOTS of ammo. Rockin' n' rollin' aint cheap.
Plus...they're not like owning just ANY weapon.
Many states require that you register your weapon with both the local AND state LEO's. Be sure you REALLLLY want one though. If you decide it's not the fun you thought it would be, they're not the easiest weapon to sell.

you can get all the info from the horse's mouth rather than second hand. the nfa had a web-site, but i can't recall the address. i think it's www.atf.com. you can also call atf, their number's in the blue pages of my local phone book. they will send you all of the class III apps. for free. i found them to be very friendly and helpful. i guess it all depends on who you get on the other end of the phone. hope this info is useful. one other hurdle that you might find difficult....you must have you application approved by you head local leo.
