Josey1 - A Compromise.

Looking at the times your messages were originally posted it seems you might combine fifteen or twenty of them into one informative thread. That way the guys who like to read and follow your links could do so and we guys that find them a distraction would only have to skip one or maybe two subjects at a time, not half a page. Think on it. Please.

I know I am going to get flamed, but I am with Whiteclouder on this. If I want to read "news", I will go somewhere to read news. But so much other good stuff gets pushed way off the page with the mass postings of Josey1. Since so much of the stuff deals with politics anyway, isn't there a specific forum for that? Seems like it has gotten worse in the last week or so when someone else brought the topic up. Anyway, all this is is my very humble opinion.

But wouldn't you rather see them all clumped together badboy? It would be so much easier for you to read. I'm not saying he shouldn't post, many appreciate it, therefore it's valuable. I'm just asking that he not fill the page with one after another.

Yeah, skipping over them really tires out the ol' mouse finger. Sometimes you even have to go to page two. How's a guy to cope?

Give 'em heck Josey1, no compromises, no negotiations, watch out for the snipers on the roof top, stay away from open windows and outside walls if possible. If everything goes to crap, get in the safe room and call me. I'll bring the boys over for a rescue via helo. AARRGGHH!!!

I've been posting everything here since this is where everyone seems to hang out. I don't even make a point to visit the other forums much. Perhaps I would find more of interest over there at times, or vice versa. I do want to make sure to get maximum exposure for the NRA news media submissions though, unless you guys don't want to talk about Ashcroft, the DOJ or the Supreme Court over here at all. In which case I'll hope you visit the other boards for that "serious" stuff. For those with short memories and the desire for strict adherence, here are the listed forae:

I have to admit these do seem pretty distinct. It makes about as much sense to post political or gun rights news here as it does to post about bow hunting. Which is not much.

Well, y'all already know where I stand. Not gonna say too much, my behind is still blistered. Just wonder if Admin can put a "governor" on posting, so no one could post more than three in any 24 hour period.

I was a supporter of Josey1 in his "less prolific" days but I just made a count. Josey1's posts take up 21 of the 50 threads on page 1. That's 42%! Granted, a guy has free speech rights, but give me a break! No, give us all a break!

What makes you think that "us all" want a break? I like to read Josey's posts but if some of them don't interest me I just pass them by. What's so hard about that? And, horror of horrors, you might have to go to page two to get caught-up on all the discussions since your last visit? So what?

As to the thought of being limited to 3 posts per day, uh, well...NO! Shoot, with that rule, you couldnt even post a thought in each forum without exceeding your limit, rethink that number, if you give it a thought at all admin. I scroll past, as Lowrider does, just kick it up a gear with the mouse and feel the wind blow across the screen, watch the blur of the lines as they.....oh well, forgot I wasnt driving.

Maybe I shouldn't respond to this... I don't post a lot here anymore, but I do read a lot here...I read a lot of Josey's posts...As some know, I am a moderator on another board and I get a lot of good information here and post over there...I also go to some of the same sites that Josey goes to get the topics..

I want to thank Josey for his posts...I can't help it cause I'm lazy..LOL.. It saves me from researching the other sites...He does it for me...

When I have a question, I come here...There are a lot of intelligent and good people here...It's a second forum home for me...

    Thanks Josey...and everyone else..

Stick with it Josey1, if clouder doesn't like you putting multiple post here, let him spend the time clumping them all into one. Besides he has nothing good to say about people anyways.

I would like to respond to this thread by stating the following. To those who find scanning through the site a great difficulty,I apoligize and respect your opinions and concerns. However,I will continue to supply the most up to date news and in doing so will allow the opinions of everyone to be heard concerning the many topics I post.

To those who have defended me through the countless and inevitable threads like this one,THANK YOU.I am not going anywhere and all the "Bash Josey" threads and all the underhanded comments will never effect a change in my posting style.I never tell anyone that they have to read any one of my posts, they do it of their own decision and more often ejoy them, even depend on them for the most current information on the one thing that links us all together,PRESERVING THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.

BTW,Hey Al,did they pass that reciprocity bill in Alaska yet?

Josey1, it's been passed, just don't know what the Anti-gun Governor will do with it. He has either 90 to sign it for it to go into law, or veto it and there are not enough votes in the legislature to get a 2/3 override vote.

22WDRF,I goota tell you something,I have an absolutely WONDERFULL life.I own two homes at which I spend different times of the year as my primary Residence.I have a gorgeous wife and two Beautifull children, one grown and one youngin'.My oldest took over the family business and has done even better than I or his grandfather did and my youngest is currently working on his Bachelors degree. My wife and I are both retired and spend much time seeing the gracefull countryside of the USA and while we could travel to the carribean islands we feel there is no reason to do so when everything we would want is right here in the USA.

"Get a life"?Well son I'll tell you this,I've had my life.Every day I get down on my knees and thank the Lord for the blessings he has bestowed on me.Hard work and living a true and honest life has had somthing to do with the benefits I reap today but without God it would all be for naught.

Josey- I used to agree with the "If you do not want to read it, skip over it" crowd, but I have changed my mind 'cause of an incident that happend to me.
I opened up the GB page, and saw all of these JOSEY1 posts. I decided I did not want to read the Josey1 posts, so I glided my mouse in a downward motion on the mouse pad. I wasnt paying attention, and was gliding the mouse right off my computer desk. When I realized what I was doing it was too late. I glided the mouse right off my desk!! The mouse started to fall, and I quickly tried to interrupt its bout with gravity. In my rush to save the mouse, I banged my hand on my desk, breaking a fingernail. I realized if I banged my hand 3 inches lower, I could have broken a knuckle.
So for "safety" reasons, I think you should avoid posting all of those informative posts. People might get hurt trying to avoid reading your posts.
Your posts are a health hazard.

Okay, I'll fess up. It is in the interest of my mouse that I wanted the links consolidated. I had a very disconcerting experience last week, when, as I scrolled through 20 of josey's posts, my mouse started to melt. I've talked to the experts and they say that shouldn't happen, but, there it was, a melted mouse point.

I'm with Clouder on this one ... but I deal with it the same as I do junk mail, which to me is what most of it is. Although there is an occasional thread of Josey1's "cut & paste posts" that I find interesting, its the same with junk mail. Ever try to find a post from 2-3 days ago? Its not that my mouse finger is lazy, it's being unable to find "That POST", it could be back 3 or 4 pages and if you over look it you have to start again. Its kind of like wadeing through all the holsters, mags & patches when your looking for something on the auction side. Even if we don't have to read the threads ... we still have to wade through them.

If I wanted to Read the news, I would go to the approprite fourm, I guess thats why I feel like if you want to Post news, YOU should go to the appropriate fourm. If these were in the appropriate fourm, at an average of 20 posts per day Gun Rights and Politics would have a combined total of 7300 posts for the last year alone instead of 133 ... y'all that support and encourage this, and say "Just scroll past it" ... are you too lazy to go to the appropriate fourm too?

(Quote) "I am not going anywhere and all the "Bash Josey" threads and all the underhanded comments will never effect a change in my posting style." (end quote) ... I guess we all have our own way of rebelling aginst the "Establishment" ... and if it keeps even one person from "going over the edge" ... It will all be worth it! (does that sound liberal or what?)

    (EDIT)
Seeing that there are only 133 combined posts in "Gun Rights" and "Politics" ... couldn't those be combiined to "News, Politics & Gun Rights" and have a "Re-Loaders Corner" or "Tips and Tricks" ... seems like a waste to have 2 fourms that don't generate much interest and are so simular ... not that I'm complaining or anything ... just an observation ...

I used to know everything, then I grew up!...(kinda)

I see both sides of the issue, I guess I am not bothered by the way that they are posted or the way they could be posted.

Some I read, others I don't but that is not the idea that was brought forth by Clouder. Simply put them all in one thread, just seperate them with a line or a few spaces is what was suggested.

Either way is ok. Just keep posting them.

Actually, I kind of liked Joseys1 hard line comment about non compromise on his method of posting.

You know what? I think if Josey was to post his posts in one of the other forums I would go there to read them. If its of any useful info. to you Josey1, just thought I'd support you in your move, so if you do decide to move to one of the other forums on this site, I'll still read them. If you dont move, it wont bother me at all either. I got a mouse with a big blue and red cape with a really slick S in the middle of it. Heat resistant so it wont melt.

While it would be ok ot post them in other forumns, some are not entirely political and could be posted in both arenas. BUT, look at some of the numbers that are in the "read column". People are reading them that would most likely not if they were elsewhere. Information/knowledge is power.

    Good God Man!

I sure am getting tired of scrolling past all these complaints about Josey1's posts. Couldnt you guys please go post these in another forum? I mean really, this is sort of a political coue, to overthrow the well meaning Josey1, so as to ensure is oppressive mouse working posts do not incur undue stress to your mouse balls. He He! Whats wrong, mouse balls gettin' in a bind? He He! Come on guys lighten up. I'd be wrong to say anyone is right or wrong here, but no one tells anyone else here, who is an 'ADVANCED' member, that they post too much, and should maybe ease up. I remember JudgeDread being a pain in the butt with his insane rants, but no one really cared, some even miss him, wonder what planet hes orbiting around anyway? So what I'm saying is, I think more time is being spent talking about what Josey1 should do, than the time that is required to just scroll past his posts. Think on it.

I see everyone is in the mood for a good "debate" again. Guess I will have to start a Harley bashing thread or another thread on how good the .223 is. Although maybe this time I could pick another subject to get flamed, I've been watching and noticed a couple strong opinions on other subjects and I think I can get some good controversy started. Atleast then y'all will quit picking on Josey.

One funny thing about Joseys posts is sometimes the people who reply to them are thinking that Josey types those himself. I do have to admit, at first I thought Josey1 was an automatic news posting program!

Josey, if you could do one favor with your posts, could you put up a thread indicating that you are going to start putting the news up and then give maybe 5 minutes before you start? Only complaint I have is when the board boggs down and quits responding for a few minutes when you post. I keep thinking my ISP is failing on me or my comp is messed up and I resart the comp only to find it was you!

I am one of those who reads a great number of Josey1's posts and in fact there are so many that it certainly is a part of the political tone of the entire board -- which is not necessarily a bad thing, after all I'm not interested in exchanging recipes with you guys (for the most part, anyway). In fact, I found a couple of the news stories particularly useful, so useful in fact that I copied them and fired them off (using the NRA Media Guide) to maybe 10 of the top newspapers in the country and half a dozen elected officials.

On the other hand, I'm not too old to believe change can be good. And I certainly know the difference between principles and stubbornness, and principles and plain rule-breaking. People in this life often most jealously defend their right to be wrong. Frankly, I can live with things as they are, since I might miss some good stuff if I didn't get over to the political forums often enough. But if Admin were to strictly adhere to its own forum descriptions, I have no doubt Josey1 would find himself over on the other board whether he "chose" to or not. Since boards have administrators and are not democracies, but at best benevolent kingdoms.

Look K.Stan and anyone else, I would do just that if it would really make a difference, but it won't and here is why.I may post anywhere from 9-17(which is a rare high amount)TOPICS daily, but that is not what people see as clogging the board. How can that be?Simple,my posts in general may be thought provoking and envoke extremely passionate feelings from many here. Those feelings turn into replies, those who reply do so to express their own individual opinion, which also brings the Topic thread back to the front page.Just look at some of my topics "Cluttering" up the first page(which seems to be the axe some are grinding),more than half of them are from days past. Now,if I posted 20 Topics in a row and NO ONE replied, they would all be on the next page by afternoon, but that is not what a message board is all about it is about sharing and voicing opinions and information. This will be the last I have to say about this,it has become repetitive and always started by the same minority, live and let live I guess,Josey.
