I've noticed there are a few truckers on here. I just wanted to let you guys know that my brother is the Service Manager at Peterbuilt of Richmond here in VA off of interstate 95. If you have not been by there in a while they have really changed things there in a good way over the last couple of years. I thought you should know becuase its not the same "dump" it used to be. His name is Jon and he is very commited to taking care of his customers. [This message has been edited by smokinggun (edited 04-07-2002).]

Ask him if he can butter up a salesman for me so I can get a decent used 379 at the market value today. I have found several selling '98 379's for less than $35,000 but the dang salesman get to be buttheads when you ask them if they can put new rubber or something on it so I don't have to spend money right off the bat.

Walt, I know all about Frtliner, I leased two of them and I will never ever do that again. The fisrt Pete I drove was for Class One Transport, I drove the silver 379 they had, that truck had around 750,000 miles on it when I got out of it and it didnt have near the rattles and squeaks that the frtliners have with less than 250,000. Diving for Classic I had a fairly new Unibuilt 379 Pete and that thing was like driving a Caddy, no wonder I always drove over hours, I didnt want to stop!

the guys at our log yard who drive-em all say to have a nice day you need to slam your finger in the door(if the door will close as per above) first thing in the morning. the rest of the day will be a snap.
