I want an AR-15... Duh, everyone does. But thing is, how can I get a pre-ban rifle, with a brand new barrel, not all used and beat to hell? I'd like to be able to put a full auto sear into it also... Any ideas, tips, suggestions?

You can find brand new pre-bans but you'll pay thousands for them. Used ones in excellent shape are plenty high dollar too.

GuitarSlinger.....You don't want to put an auto sear in ANYTHING, pre ban or not. If it wasn't F/A before the ban went into effect in '86, it's illegal for you to make it so now.Mudge

Incorrect.Preban AR15s in nice shape can be bought for $1100 -$1600 easilyI saw a nice PWA sell for $1000 and an SP1 for $1100 at the Tulsa show Saturday. To make them FA requires you to purchase a $200 transfer tax and jump through some hoops for the BATF.A Drop In Auto Sear (DIAS) can be purchased and put in the gun.The DIAS is the registered part, not the AR15.Registered sears go for $2000.Do not get the DIAS from Shotgun News if you have an AR15.That combination is illegal as HellWill cost about $3500-$4000 total.cpermd
