BATF vs 50-80% castings and forgings

This is hot.BATF has contacted some folks this week to let them know that the AR raw pieces are to be considered firearms by themselves. No machining needs to have been done. They need a drill press and mill to be turned into a receiver I believe. This is going to be an interesting case for the first person charged with whatever they are going to charge.I called the BATF office in Little Rock Fri but they never called me back.I have a casting and will call again Monday and turn myself in.Never have worked on it.Would love to see an Arkansas jury look at that paperwt in court. You can bet your happy * that I can take an8"X 2"X 4" block of Aluminum and some machinery I have available and have a receiver in 4 hours.I guess they will have to rule Aluminum blocks as firearms also.cpermd [This message has been edited by cpermd (edited 02-02-2002).]
