I bought 200 of this today and it sticks to the magnet and sticks very well. So I pulled 20 or so and found that the ammount of powder ranged from 46.7 to 48.8gr of ball powder. Most averaged nearly 48gr.All bullets weight within +-.5grCases are berdan primed and look very poor. After some very hard scrubbing they looked half way decent.I aint gonna shoot this stuff cause it is steel jacketed, but is it corrosive? Head stamp is HP 78 were they still using corrosive primers then?I was going to recharge the cases and put my own bullets in. But I wanted to know if this crap is corrosive. 45 bucks down the drain, I'll probably just give it to my brother and uncle to shoot in those crap rifles.

Hirt is not corrosive. It is good ammo.I have NEVER seen Hirt with a Berdan primer.Wonder what you have gotten? What is the Headstamp?Hird does have a mild steel copper washed jacket that will not harm a barrel at all.Let us know the headstamp.cpermd

For what it's worth ... i remember hearing ...... long ago ... that the Hirt' stuff tends to be high pressure. If used in a good condition gun then I doubt any probs at all .... but been wary since i heard this. Can't give a source ... sorry.
