NYC cop shoots self

The guy in the office next to mine gets the New York Post and the Daily News every day, so I usually pick them up and flip through them and today I read in one of them an article about a NYC cop that shot himself in the groin while turning his gun over for inspection. Could this be yet another accidental Glock discharge. I think all they use are glocks, right? This is like the third in a row that I've heard of in the last year if it is in fact a Glock again this time. It's making me kind of Glock-shy as far as a future purchase goes. Did anybody hear more on this?

Please keep us informed on this. I thought only an idiot with special powers could discharge a Glock by accident.

The two percent rule applies, you must be two percent smarter than the tool you are trying to use.
Why would a cop hand over a loaded weapon to anyone? Especially for an inspection jeeez.

I agree that guns just don't go off by accident. Gotta pull the trigger to make it go BANG.

However, in nearly every story I read of an officer shooting himself or another officer accidentally, or otherwise accidentally discharging his pistol, it is a Glock.

    Coincidence?

If everyone drove a Jeep, all auto accidents would involve a Jeep. If Cops rather have Glocks and that is all they use......all of their shooting accidents are going to involve Glocks. If they only used Jennings 9mm instead, they wouldn't have another Glock accident....!

Personally, I desire a "safe" gun, which I don't consider a Glock to be. However, there are folks who wouldn't have anything but a Glock. Glad I don't have to drive a Jeep or carry a Glock......like my Jennings much better and I know my Nash Rambler is better than a Jeep!
