Colt Serial Number

Any of you Colts guys have any idea what Colts rate of production may have been for 80 series Government models.
I bought a NIB Colt today with serial number FG64xxx.
I found they started the 80 series in 1983 wuith serial number FG01000.
Just curious how many they may have cranked out yearly.

    Unfortunately, Colt has not made "public" much information after about 1985, which would include the gun you're asking about. There are no known sources, (to me, anyway), that would have this information except the Colt Historical Department. They charge for their services so I doubt we will find it "free" in the near future. Good Luck! Sorry I couldn't be more help!
