I.D.ing and odd piece of WWII field equipment

Hi guys just got in from an auction. I bought a 2ft x 4 ft canvas table. It has legs about 10 in. long that fold up and leave a wooden frame covered by white canvas. the only marking is Govt. property and 3 letters first 1 is P can't remember what the other 2 are right now. The auctioneer said it was a map table but I'm wondering if any of you can verify that.
