Interesting Movie on ABC

Just watching an interesting movie on ABC.
It's about a divorced father who's ex-wife has full custody of his baby daughter. When he notices some marks on the baby one day, he asks his selfish drunk of a wife about it, and gets a slurred, ranting response along the lines of "She's mine, I'm her mother, I'll do as I damn well please and if you touch her without my permission I'll have the cops fry your *." Eventually, he ands up going to the police and Social Services for help.
They all basically tell him that since he's the father, he has zero rights and zero chance of getting custody or assistance. They question his motives, scoff at his concerns, ignore his pleas, and kick him to the curb.
Finally one day, the guy catches his old lady and her live-in beau getting into a knock-down drag-out fight that results in the baby being further hurt, and he decides he's had enough and he takes her and makes off.
I havent seen the end of it yet, but lo and friggin' behold, when the "grieving mother" sobers up enough to call the cops, the DEFEND THE MOTHER'S RIGHTS PATROL comes roaring out of the garage and within 10 minutes there's hundreds of Federal agents and coordination centers and a massive national dragnet.
I'm sure there are thousands of Gloria Steinem/Andrea Dworkin wannabes out there chewing on their fists and calling the Indignant Protest Patrol as they watch this movie.

When I was a child, I thought as a child. But now that I am growen, I just wish I could act like a child and get away with it.
The movie is very sympathetic to the plight of the father on the run with his daughter, and the overwhelming media and police response is also very realistic.
If people start seeing the other side of the coin, that jerks the power-base right out from under those who make their living on propagandizing to gain power.

I dont think I can watch anymore. I'm truly nauseated. And the sad thing is, it's utterly real. If it was a woman who ran off with her child, she'd be cheered as a hero.
But in this modern and progressive society, the man ends up in prison for something a woman would easily walk for.

Child Support Enforcement department wouldn't enforce it. After 3 or 4 trips to their office. I got an appointment with the head of the outfit and asked him why they weren't going after her. I pointed out to him that if it were me that wasn't paying, I be labeled a "deadbeat dad" and they'd be on me like stink on s---. That if I didn't get some results SOON, a letter describing the situation would be going to my congressman and my senators. That got a response.
It's too bad that a mothers care is, almost always, considered the best environment for the child. Whether the child wants to be with the mother or not.

I can't come to work today. The voices said, STAY HOME AND CLEAN THE GUNS!
Just heard that the judge has ovarian cancer. While I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone I think it is fitting that that would be where she got it if she was going to get the Big C.
