Paypal Suxx Big time

Just had paypal take money out of my account for a chargeback on an old auction from July. The buyer bought 2 identical items and paid for them seperately. When He got his statement in he forgot about buying them seperately so it looked like a double payment and he requested a chargeback from his credit card company. Now in August it shows up on my account as a pending chargeback and I contact the customer and let him know what the deal is. He contacts his credit card co. and cancels the request and paypal also. It keeps on showing up as a pending chargeback on my account. I emailed customer service about a dozen times and never got an answer from them. The yesterday the pending charge back shows up as canceled and they take the amount out of my account plus a 10.00 fee. So they stole my money and made me pay for them to do it. Below is the items copied from my account page

Sep 12, 2002 Transfer To Chargeback Settlement Completed -13.99 -10.00 -23.99

Aug 14, 2002 Reversal To eugene jones Canceled -13.28 0.00 -13.28

Call PayPal at 1-888-221-1161. I've called them on a problem and they took care of it while I was on the phone.

    22,
They haven't been aquired by Ebay, yet. They are still the same company so far. No one from Ebay is working there yet. The deal isn't settled. Hope it doesn't get approved.

The address you enter has to appear exactly as it does on your credit card bill and/or bank account; that's what "valid" means in this case. That's one way they check authenticity and prevent fraudulent creation of an account with your credit card number. If your address was entered slightly differently than the database at your bank has it, it would be termed invalid.

Personally, I have used PayPal for a long time for purchases, and now I'm using it for some collections, without problems so far. Auction members create far more of the problems themselves, usually due to poor communication habits.

I have used PayPal hundreds of times and am VERY pleased with it, but then I am a buyer. The chargeback problem exists with ALL payment forms. Anyone who takes a credit card or the like, or even a check, can experience a chargeback or stop-payment issue. It is just part of doing business using that type of payments.

The case mentioned sounds like one that can be resolved providing customer service with the facts.

Pay barf are crooks, I will not use them. I will take the time to go to the post office for a money order rather than give a dime to those idiots.

Leeblackman: Right on. As a G.B. seller I only accept M.O.,
or certified checks. Too many problems with personal checks and
other types of payments. Dont really need this problem. Keep it
simple. Yes, I also accept cash. (the last resort).

You have to be crazy to let a 'coproration" whose home address is a P.O. Box have access to your bank account. if you must use paypunk make sure you have a seperate bank account just for them..that way when they take the money and run they dont clean you out..naysayers may have a hard time believing a corporation would do this but then stranger things have happened..

You guys are missing the point. The customer had contacted them and canceled the request the credit card company had been contacted and canceled the request for the chargeback and they still went ahead and took the money and fees from my paypal balance. NOT MY BANK ACCOUNT I refuse to allow them access there by becoming confirmed. They can deposit but don't have withdrawl privilidge. I keep a small alount in the account to pay for auctions

I must be lucky or something. I have been using PayPal for 2 1/2 years with only one minor difficulty that was taken care of quickly and professionally. Hope my luck holds.....

I'm with you William. Been using them about the same amount of time. Love 'em. I both send and receive payments. No problem ever. I love the speed. I have paid for an auction purchase within minutes after it ended and received the item the next day. I love it when one of my auctions close and two or three minutes later I get the PayPal notice that it has been paid for. Ah but yes, the age of instant gratification

I use paypal alot for accepting payments. Until recently had no problem. Then a shipment got lost and the buyer notified me on a Friday evening it hadn't arrived. Emailed him back told him a replacement was on the way. Monday he emailed me unless Iresponder\ed he'd request refund. Emailed him again saying replacement was on the way. Wednesday morning He filed for refund and Wednesday afternoon he got the replacement. His SPAM software was kicking out my emails for some reason. He canceled the refund request and contacted me about the mixup. The next day I was leaving for vacation and pulled all the funds out of my paypal account. I get back to town 2 weeks later to find my account frozen because I didn't have enough in it to cover the refund.(THE CANCELED ONE) I spent 2 weeks getting it straightened out and started using them again but not as much as before. Then they pull this garbage and I'm forced to assume that they have their head so far up someplace dark , moist and smelly they can't see daylight.
