Am I the only "all-nighter" here ? It's easy for me because I'm at work, working my fingers to the bone . Anyone else

    I will be starting winter shift this week. 12-8 am. I am allowed all the time I want to play on the computer so I'll probably be refreshing about every 15 minutes and wondering why nobody wants to get up and play.

    Just going off nights here - start days next week. Our shifts run 5:30pm - 3:30am

    Taz, I wish I were working those hours! I am at my absolute best sleeping 1300 - 2100 & working through the night. Unfortunately, most of the world, including my family, persists in their perverted addiction to diurnal patterns.

    Wundudnee - I'll be around unless this place I work closes, which is being rumored ...

    Iconoclast - Ive been 3rd shifter for 22+ years and can't imagine working when it's light out I too have to suffer through all others with thei "perverted diurnal patterns" (I like that)

    I work 4 days/ 10 hrs, 8pm - 6am, which I love. Only that I have to work every Friday night whcih results in many missed parties and shooting 1/2 of Saturday in the *.

    I worked a 12 hour swing shift for 6 years.I would work 2 weeks of daytime and shift to 2 weeks of night shift.For 6 years I did not know whether I was coming or going,been on daytime for the last 9 years working 7am to 3pm.

    The good thing about night shift,no boss.

    4wheeler - I could never to the swing shift thing. Its bad enuff working 3rd but at least if you do it all the time your body adjusts to some degree. No boss is not only a plus but the main reason Im here. I would choke some a-hole on first, 14 bosses and 25 engineers all trying to make someone else look bad ... can't play that game !

    I worked for DuPont and the co. that bought the plant for 37 years. All of that shift work, changing weekly 8-4 4-12 12-8. Now I'm employed by the State of Kansas as a boiler operator. I spend all summer fixing, repairing, painting, argueing, fighting and generally making an * out of myself. I HATE WORKING DAYS! During the winter my job generally consists of watching a furnace run. There are only three people in the building, the control operator, security and me. If I can make it until spring I'm going to be an ex shift worker.
