Smith Wesson Model 57

Hello everyone,

I have a NIB Smith Wesson model 57 .41 Mag with "8 3/4"bbl from 1980. Here is my dilemma, I am a shooter and have only purchased guns that I could have fun with. This thing is gorgeous but I can't bring myself to shoot it. It is currently unfired and seems a waste sitting in a box. How much will I decrease the value if it is fired? I should probably sell it and buy a Ruger that know one wants. Thanks for any input. Goose

sell it. they're going for about a grand, if not more, in that condition. might get 6-700 from a dealer. maybe more from a collector. i just wish....

I have the same revolver and with the price of .41 ammunition I don't think it's going to see any appreciable wear in the near future.[:D] Seriously, I rarely sell any firearm, but I have considered seperating this one from the herd. There is a lot of interest in the 57s from S&W collectors and a nice one brings a good price.
