CANDY BUTTONS

Does anybody remember the little candy buttons that came on the long strips of paper? Does anybody still make these? There were also little things called "zots". They were about the size of a cough drop with stuff inside that fizzed like alka-seltzers. [This message has been edited by Brth729 (edited 03-21-2002).]

Gee, somebody has a sweet tooth. You don't find them in regular stores much anymore, but you can often find them in gift shops at places catering to family tourists, along with other types of what we used to call penny candy. "Why I can remember when I used to fill the saddle-bag of my Schwinn with jaw-breakers and fire-balls for 25 cents," he said in the voice of Grandpa Simpson. My wife sometimes picks stuff like that up in Mennonite country stores in western NY.

Yeah I remember those little sh#ts! They were a bit@h to get off the paper. Most of the time I would eat as much paper as I did candy. The thing that i remember most is "Fizzies"-aka ghetto pop.

Yeah, Fizzies. Grew up with 'em. My brother and I got so "tough" we could suck on a Fizzie until it was gone, or even more fun chew one up and swallow for big belches. Kids, don't try this at home! You have to keep belching for a while or you end up with a big belly ache and/or puking. What great memories!
